Everything you want to know before we meet.
The practical, the personal, and the things people usually feel awkward asking out loud. All here.
What is your session fee?
Sessions are $225 for a 50-minute hour. Payment is collected through a secure client portal at the time of session.
Do you take insurance?
I am out-of-network with all insurance plans. Many clients use their out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement. I provide a monthly superbill that you submit directly to your insurance company.
If you would like, I can walk you through how to call your insurance and ask about out-of-network coverage on our consult call.
How often do we meet?
Weekly to start. The work goes deeper and feels steadier when we are seeing each other on a consistent rhythm. Many clients shift to every other week later in our work together.
How long is each session?
50 minutes. A standard clinical hour. I always start and end on time so the rest of your day can flow.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for 24 hours notice for any cancellation. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. I make exceptions for genuine emergencies and acute illness, especially for new parents.
What happens on the consult call?
The consult is a free 20-minute video call. You tell me a bit about what is bringing you in, I tell you a bit about how I work, and we both get a feel for whether this is the right fit. There is no pressure to commit.
If you have a partner, you are welcome to bring them. That is what the consult call is for.
What is therapy with you actually like?
Warm, direct, and active. I am not a silent nod-and-mirror therapist. I give feedback, ask questions, push back when something is worth pushing back on, and celebrate the wins loudly. The work is collaborative.
I bring evidence-based tools and a lot of clinical experience, but mostly I bring full presence.
Who do you work with?
Women navigating any stage of perinatal and maternal mental health. That includes preconception and fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy after loss, birth trauma, identity shifts, and the long second act of motherhood that nobody warns you about.
Do you work with couples?
My primary work is individual therapy. I occasionally bring partners in for targeted sessions when it serves the client's work, but I am not a couples therapist. I have a short list of trusted referrals for couples work if that is what you need.
Where is your office?
I see clients in person at 7 4th St. #28, in downtown Petaluma. There is a coffee shop downstairs and street parking on most days.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I am licensed in California and offer secure telehealth sessions anywhere within the state. Many of my clients find telehealth easier, especially with a baby at home or a busy work calendar.
What if I am not in California?
I can only provide therapy to California residents. If you are outside the state, I am happy to point you toward Postpartum Support International, which keeps a directory of vetted perinatal specialists nationwide.
Bring them to the consult call. That is what it is for.
If you have lingering questions, a hesitant partner, or a particular concern you want to talk through before we start, the consult is the place. No pressure, no commitment, just a 20-minute conversation.
